مراسم The Game Awards ۲۰۱۹ روز جمعه به پایان رسید و طی این مراسم، بازی Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice به عنوان بهترین بازی سال انتخاب شد.
لقب پرافتخارترین بازی The Game Awards ۲۰۱۹ به بازی مستقل Disco Elysium اختصاص پیدا کرد. این بازی توانست در چهار دسته‌ی مختلف برنده‌ی جایزه شود. بازی Disco Elysium در چهار دسته‌ی «بهترین روایت»، «بهترین بازی مستقل»، «بهترین بازی نقش‌آفرینی» و «بهترین بازی اول یک استودیو» توانست نظر داوران رویداد The Game Awards امسال را به سمت خود جذب کند.
پس از Disco Elysium دو بازی Death Stranding و Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice با دریافت سه و دو جایزه، پرافتخارترین بازی‌های The Game Awards ۲۰۱۹ بودند.
بازی Death Stranding توانست جوایز «بهترین کارگردان»، «بهترین موسیقی» و «بهترین بازیگر» را کسب کند.
بازی Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice هم ضمن دریافت جایزه‌ی «بهترین بازی سال»، توانست جایزه‌ی «بهترین بازی ماجراجویی اکشن» را هم از این مراسم دریافت کند.
برای اولین بار در رویداد The Game Awards امسال هم‌چنین شاهد برگزاری یک رای-گیری مردمی برای انتخاب بهترین بازی سال از سوی مردم بودیم. طی این بخش که با اسم Player’s Voice برگزار شده بود، مخاطبان The Game Awards ۲۰۱۹ در سه روز از بین ۲۵ بازی، با اختلاف بسیار بازی Fire Emblem: Three Houses را به عنوان بهترین بازی سال انتخاب کردند.
